Something original to Arlington's yard is the grass berm batter's backdrop in center field, upon which fans can scamper when a home run is hit there. The double-deck covered "home run porch" in right field in Arlington is a nod to another classic ballpark, Detroit's Tiger Stadium, and atop its roof is a 42' by 120' high-definition scoreboard. Except for in the Big Apple, no American League ballpark in America has a larger capacity (Toronto's Rogers Centre is north of 50K) and the large upper deck that holds many of those fans is topped with a white frieze, a la Yankee Stadium, but less gaudy than New York's example. The top three stories of the office complex are leased by regular (non-baseball) businesses and the field-facing balconies they enjoy are quite a perk for each of the lessees.Īppropriate for Texas, the ballpark is a big one as it contains 48,114 seats. The Rangers' stadium is enclosed thanks to one of its more distinctive features: a four-story office building that's in center field. Built alongside a 12-acre lake, arches are cut into the picturesque brick facade of the ballpark, which is the only fully enclosed one to open in the ballpark renaissance era that began in 1992. Where the pursuit of baseball never ends.Ĭall it what you will, but the Rangers' ballpark in Arlington is about as pretty a place as you'll ever see upon approach. Overall I was impressed and if you have a chance then experience a Texas Rangers game at Globe Life Field and will definitely enjoy it.Globe Life Park in Arlington - Texas Rangers Baseball Pilgrimages If you want roomy and feel like sitting in a club section, then this is for you. The vantage point was great where even though hard to see the pitcher the rest of the field was spectacular. After a while the sun went down and felt much better and cooler. You also have your own server to bring your food and drinks, however for our game the sun hit us hard where the Rangers had the roof open. The tables are semicircles and sit in office style chairs. It's located in the outfield where you either share a table or have four in your party. On our second night we sat in the Wild Rag Deck or as the radio announcers call it “The Taco Seats”. Since this was my first time here I was scanning the other sections especially the one for the next night. Our seats had great sight lines of the field and the seats seemed a bit larger with good leg room. It also was less crowded with no lines especially for the restrooms. This area was much more upgraded from the level above where the food and drink vendors were much better. One night we had to go down an elevator to the field level. There are many seating options including club levels to enjoy for the baseball elite. You also will see another Hall of Fame areas with framed photos and jerseys of past players at the entrance near Texas Live!. The inside is remarkably high end compared to other MLB ballparks with a nice grand team store, numerous places to purchase drinks and order food. You will find at the main entrance a Hall of Fame walkway then you pass by the team store entrance and return back to Texas Live!. We first encountered a lake with a walking trail, artwork and then statues of famous players of the past. One morning My wife and I walked around the perimeter of the stadium finding many sites to see to see and marveling at the stadium. Choctaw Stadium is still across the street and the AT&T Stadium in viewing distance. Looked like designers took a trip to Houston to tour Minute Maid Park and returned home to their bosses to say, “We can duplicate it and do it better!” I was impressed by the size of Globe Life Field and the fact there is a hotel and entertainment complex right next door.
